Gimli — unfazed by Celeborn’s presence — sweet-talks the Lady into giving him something incredibly personal, and Frodo and Sam receive gifts that seem nice, but aren’t something they’ll be using every day. Hi, another thought occurred to me in reference to the gift Frodo receives: “Remember Galadriel and her mirror.” I think that Frodo l needs to remember not only what he saw in the mirror but also what happened next to the mirror: Galadriel passing the test and giving up her desire for the ring. In the end, that is the most important lesson that Frodo learned in Lothlórien – although, come to think of it, he might not have learned it well enough.
